conspiracy theories.

i've always naturally latched onto the idea that things aren't what they seem. as most people did i saw michael moore's bowling for columbine and it made me want to think the world wasn't what it seemed to be.
except bowling for columbine turned out to be garbage. which is what most conspiracy theories i've looked into are. i'm sure people mean well (sometimes) but i was talking about it with my father the other day and he summed it up nicely to me. he said that people don't like the thought that no one's in charge. they don't like the idea that things just happen, that the melting pot of the world's people produces completes crazy results.
i'm sure some of them hold weight. actually i'm not sure of that at all. all the nutbar ones have ruined any interest i have in discovering the legit ones so for the moment, i'm done.

  1. one time at work i spoke with two people who were clearly conspiracy theory guys. you know. if you speak about the moon landings being fake and 9/11 being an inside job. Look at building 11! Whatever! there's no explosives craziness. anyway.
so i said you guys like conspiracy theories. and they got mad that that was what i called it. but then i said they were nutjobs. and they quite enjoyed that sentiment.
